Techonology

With the ever increasing amount of technology in our world, Postman and Weingartner suggest that this creates "a totally new environment requiring a whole new repertoire of survival strategies." (p. 7) Mankind lives differently now than before the age of technology, for better or for worse. This creates a whole new series of issues that must be dealth with according to the fundamental principles of mankind. Technology is not an excuse for every "new" problem that comes up. For example, a major issue with media is censorship. Many people are upset at how easy it is to access pornography on the internet. However, pornography still existed as a problem before the advent of the internet. We must learn to deal with this "new" problem in a different way.
