Chapter 1
While Postman and Weingartner have the idea that education needs to educate our students to be useful and potent citizens in our ever-changing society, they will leave teacher impotent if their is no idea of foundational principles. Without a good grasp on some basic rights of man, submersive thinking will only lead to chaos and anarchy. All of the authors suggestions should be taken in the light that America is meant to be a republic (representative democracy), where educated citizens is a must.
